Loch Fad fishery has seen the return of some cracking, double figured pike this winter. There has been  some great catches from local lads and visitors through the winter months from boats using lures and bank dead baiting all around the loch , with fish recorded up to 27lbs, so that big 30 is not far away. The rainbow trout season is now under way as well as the restocking. Once again the loch is ready to support the islands tourism. Rainbow warriors visited Loch fad  and had some excellent catches from boats, fly fishing along the dam wall and if front of the boat  jetty.  Most anglers were on small mini lures with a varied retrieve, well over 100 rainbows as well as some cracking pike were caught on the day which gave some cracking sport. Park Tavern angling club were at the loch  as well as pat O’briens lads and cardwell game fishers. The loch was stocked for visitors and the clubs had good returns  from boats and bank with best flies viva fritz and yellow dancers with intermediate lines,and usual maggot and worm always popular.

Loch Quien is Now open and has started as she finished last Season.
There has been more than 40 quality fish caught by visitors and local lads on the first few days. The loch fished amazing last season and has the potential of a natural double brown trout this season 2017. This loch is fished with traditional flies as in Dunked, Blue Zulu, Kate Mclaren as well as spiders and Muddlers for those surface chasers. Tight lines for 2017.
